Body scrubs are an amazing multitasking product: nourishing, exfoliating and scenting your skin all in one. Why not get your weekend off to a glowing start? Tomorrow is Friday ladies!
A basic body scrub recipe includes:
- An exfoliator: sugar is good for normal to dry skin while sea salt is good for oilier skin. Used coffee granules and sugar make a great scrub that may help diminish the appearance of cellulite.
- A moisturiser: olive or almond oil
- A few drops of scent: peppermint and lemon are revitalising, rose and lavender are relaxing, while tea tree is great for skin that tends to break out.
Mix the exfoliator and moisturiser in a ratio of 2:1 or ½ cup sugar to ¼ cup oil. Add in a few drops of essential oil and mix thoroughly. Store in a tightly closed glass jar.
For those of you who prefer to follow a recipe here is a great one for all skin types from TheBeautyDepartment: (Tip: for a stronger rose scent add a drop or two of rose essential oil to the sugar and almond oil mixture.)
